Penrose Parkrun 2019
May 11th 2019
5 km run (with buggy)
This weekend I happened to be staying in Carbis Bay, and a friend suggested we go across to the Penrose estate for Parkrun. I do love a little bit of tourism, so when she also kindly offered to lend me her buggy (which is the same as mine albeit less cyan!) I readily agreed.

Prior to the run we had a little walk as we had arrived in good time. The start of the course looked incredibly narrow, and not tarmac as the website had said...
Turns out that wasn't the course! It was still quite narrow, but definitely tarmac. I'm normally not a tarmac fan, but on an unfamiliar out and back course with buggy, I didn't mind it. Starting at the back however (as advised for buggies) was a total nightmare. The first ten minutes of the run was spent trying to weave through what was a surprisingly big field, along with the dogs who had also started at the back.
It was only at the turn point that I really started to be able to run, and even then the path was constricted. By the time I'd come back bast the pretty lake I'd decided I would only really be able to do a fast jog on what would otherwise have been a fast course I think. Nevermind!
Molly and I had a lot of fun doing her first ever parkrun in the buggy (she has done one before in her sling). A nice way to start the day!
