Race to the Stones 2019
July 13th-14th 2019
62-mile ultra run over two days
My A-race for the year and my aim here was just to finish! I only had 6 weeks of training for this (thanks to injury) but that had been fairly steady and consistent, so I felt more ready than I thought. The morning loomed and was beautifully sunny (and a bit hot for my liking but at this point I'd take that over rain).
Hannah and I set off from the start in the third Wave, which was rather busy! The ridgeway trail was narrow and it must've taken a good 10 miles or so until we could run at a reasonable pace without hindrance. In the meantime however, we had been enjoying the scenery - stunning corn fields and quaint villages littered the path.
